AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that defies traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
